What is a Zero-Day Exploit?

What is a Zero-Day Exploit?

A Zero-Day exploit is a software vulnerability, known by the software vendor, that does not currently have a fix.

Zero-Day vulnerabilities are used by hackers to attack systems affected by said flaw and exploited until the software vendor patches the vulnerability.

Microsoft and Adobe are often two vendors that have zero-day vulnerabilities but many other software vendors have had zero-day vulnerabilities in the past.
